As a mom, I’ve wrestled with the concept of time more deeply than ever, especially after becoming a teacher. Over twenty years have gone by, and yet, here I am again, reflecting on this idea with fresh eyes.
After my fall, I’ve been healing. My ankle is much better now, and it’s reminded me of how much I used to move. In just about a month, I’ve seen progress, but there are still limitations. Today, I wish I could: ride bikes, walk freely, run, chase, play tag, soccer, and tennis—sports I’ve loved and played for over thirty years.
Recovery has forced me to pause. I had to say no to my half-marathon plans. From walking nearly 10K steps daily as a teacher, I’m now barely hitting 2 K. That shift hit hard. I’ve felt stuck. Anxious. Like my heart was calling out for movement.
But here’s the breakthrough: I found a way forward.
Not long ago, I saw people running in place and thought, “Why not me?” Today, I started small—some light breath work, a gentle yoga flow. I noticed tightness in my chest—yep, anxiety—but instead of wishing I could move, I did. I ran in place. Counted to 40 in my head. Checked my watch… and there it was. My heart rate had jumped. I kicked out my legs, repeated the move, and there it was again: 150 BPM. I was moving. I was back.

Coach Claudia is an experienced health and wellness coach with over 10 years of helping women and men improve their health through simple, effective nutrition and fitness solutions. Her goal is to make health coaching accessible and achievable for everyone.
Claudia’s journey began at the YMCA in Terra Linda, California, where she first discovered her passion for helping others live healthier lives. She has since expanded her expertise with certifications in NASM Nutrition Coaching, Positive Psychology, and Ayurvedic Nutrition. A fan of yoga, pilates, and running, Claudia’s wellness philosophy focuses on mindful, holistic living.
Currently, Claudia is furthering her education with courses that focus on wellness in schools and the benefits of mindful living for teachers and students. Her mission is to empower you to live a healthier, more active lifestyle by focusing on wholesome living rituals that are easy to incorporate into daily routines.
As an independent Herbalife health coach, Claudia is dedicated to giving back to her community. She co-organizes the Dover High School Reset Day, which focuses on mental health and wellness for students. She is also raising funds for the Special Olympics Dover Team and will participate in a charity event in February 2025 by dipping into the Atlantic.
